“Watch the morning sun rise over the Drakensburg mountains whilst listening to an accolade of African bush sounds as you sip on your morning coffee. Here lies Nambiti, a place steeped in battlefield history, mystery, and untamed beauty.”
Big 5 Properties is proud to present what we believe is one of the best options on offer to Own your Piece of Africa. Nestled atop a hill, one can scan the pleins from the comfort of your chair, or lounger by the pool, to see what Africa is showcasing for the day. Sunrise lifts the crisp cold air, inviting the animals out of their slumber whilst the Turtle Dove calls start to echo all about. Start the day with a game drive or simply head over to the main lodge where one is spoilt for choice on the many breakfast options tailored to suit all dietary requirements.
The lodge consists of 9 luxurious suites with panoramic views, freestanding, constructed with local materials and thatch. These air conditioned rooms are spacious and secluded with private viewing decks where guests can relax and observe the herds of zebra, wildebeest and impala as they graze below. The suites have been designed to allow maximum game viewing from every room with large picture windows looking out onto the valley. In addition to a private bathroom, each suite has an outdoor shower so that even while showering, our guests can immerse themselves in the sights and sounds of Nambiti. Showering in view of a herd of antelope or elephant is an unforgettably African experience! Each suite has a flat screen TV with satellite channels where you can catch up with a world that seems very far away – should you wish to!
Nambiti Reserve offers a wide range of biodiversities which explains the huge variety of animals, birdlife, insects and flora. The area surrounding Nambiti is known as the Battlefields Area and is very rich in history, helping make it a special place. San Bushman originally occupied the area and then the Zulu people and later European settlers moved into the area. Numerous Boer War and Zulu War battlefields can be found in the vicinity and interestingly the Battle of Elandslaagte played out to a large extent within the boundaries of Nambiti Private Game Reserve.
Umzolozolo was established 15 years ago by the current owners who have pridefully developed this lodge into the 5* gem it is today. With trained local staffing who know each of their guests by name, one feels like you have been coming here for years. This is an absolute pristine opportunity for someone wanting to own their Piece of Africa, or simply to enter the tourism industry with an asset which has been well established over time. Even through Covid times, the lodge has sustained itself which speaks volumes.
